There are certain motorcycle licensing requirements and although the process is very simple there are certain steps you will need to take to get your license depending on your needs.
California issues different classes of driver licenses for operating any two-vehicle:
- Class M1- This license permits operation of any two-wheeled motorcycle and all vehicles listed in class M2.
- Class M2- You can operate any motorcycle bicycle, moped, or motorized scooter.
These licenses are only for those who want to operate a two-wheeled vehicle. The California DMV permits anyone who has a valid Class C license, this license is issued for standard vehicle operation, to operate a motorcycle with sidecar attatched.
